
Quimetta Perle is an American artist of Spanish and Jewish descent. Born in Washington, DC, she maintains a studio in Brooklyn, NY and Delray Beach, FL. She earned a BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1976 and an MFA in Computer Art from School of Visual Arts in 1997. She has been a feminist artist and activist since the 1970’s, and an early member of WARM Gallery, a women’s collective in Minneapolis in the 70’s/80’s. She has had numerous solo exhibitions, including at the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, Arts Warehouse in Delray, Stand4 Gallery in Brooklyn, Carter Burden Gallery, Soho 20, Brooklyn Polytechnic and Lesley University’s Marron Gallery, and numerous group exhibitions in museums and galleries nationally and in the UK. She was awarded a commission in 2025 to create a series of 8 textile hangings in the Mandel Library in West Palm Beach. In addition to her studio work, she is the former Director of the HAI Art Studio and Gallery in New York, which served artists with mental illness; and led YAI Arts, another inclusive studio, for which she now serves as an artist mentor.
